Moonlight Hussler grabbed an impressive Debutant Stakes win at Caulfield.
Moonlight Hussler was smartly away from his wide barrier (11) and Nash Rawiller then eased the colt to settle eighth, three wide with cover.
He went to the extreme outside rounding the home turn, put in a strong run to reach the lead passing the 200m, and then fought gamely to score by half a length in an impressive debut.
The Anthony Cummings-trained first-starter Good Prince was eased to settle tenth in the 11-horse field. He improved between runners nearing the turn, switched wide at the 300m and kept making good ground for a very encouraging second.
The SA-trained filly Piacenza ($3.60 fav) missed the start and settled ninth before being shuffled back to last at the home turn. She was then badly held up in looking for clear running before switching wide at the 200m and finished well for a most unlucky third.
Stingray was quickly away from his wide barrier (10) but was then trapped four wide without cover outside the leading trio. He got to a narrow lead at the 300m but he then tired after his early efforts told to finish fourth, beaten just over three lengths.
