Minaj clung on for a narrow win in the Chandler MacLeod Crockett Stakes on Manikato night.

Minaj was used up to lead from her wide barrier before getting a mid race breather.

She quickened up again approaching the home turn and was able to hold on for a narrow victory despite being left a sitting shot in the straight. This was Minaj’s third win from five starts, her natural speed allowed her to control this race.

Romancingthestone enjoyed a nice run in fourth one out one back. She cornered three wide and finished on resolutely in the straight but could not grab the winner.

The Messina Nymph raced on the quarters of the leader in the run. She challenged her on cornering but was unable to get by the leader finishing a close third.

The eye-catching run came from Holy Cow who came from second last and widest on the home turn. She was finishing on fast for fourth and could have won in a few more strides.
