Oakleigh Girl kicked off Cup day with an impressive win.
Oakleigh Girl could not have been more impressive leading throughout and breaking clear of the field at the 250 metres before going to the line under hands and heels riding to win by one and a quarter lengths.
She ran times comparable to the older horses later in the day and is a filly that should be followed closely.
Top Dolly was also very good on debut. She was a little slowly away from the gates and settled down second last of the bunch that raced down the centre of the track. She made up good ground the whole way to the line but just found the winner a little too good.
Singularity raced on the back of the speed in the bunch in the centre of the track. She switched back closer to the flat side rail and made steady ground to grab third right on the line.
