Class prevailed in the Lexus Hybrid Plate as Moderate grabbed a strong win for Peter Snowden.
Moderate was very fast out of the gates being used up to cross and take a clear lead on the fence.
She ran along in front stringing the small field out. She rolled off the fence in the straight and despite laying out proved too good. She did not look comfortable on cornering nor in the straight at her first start the Melbourne way of going, but she is undoubtedly a very talented filly who should be followed.
Roop All ran well in defeat closing strongly from a detached last and widest in the straight. She took a little while to wind up but was finishing best of all late to be closest at the line. A good effort.
Politeness was sound in defeat, coming from second last and three wide on cornering. She was pulled out into the clear at the 400 metres and finished on soundly to slightly level out on her run over the concluding stages. She might appreciate a step up in distance.
