Whittington resumed in style beating home the older horses in the Magic Millions Sprint.
The smart Gai Waterhouse-trained colt Whittington ($2.60 favourite) scored a very good first-up win in fast time.
He was quickly away and then eased to enjoy a good trip, third on the rails, following a fast pace. He got a split on straightening, challenged at the 200m and proved too good in the closing stages to win by a neck.
Five-year-old mare Emmalene ($6) was back in eighth place on the rails to the 600m, obtained a great inside run when rounding the home turn, going to third at the 200m. She then kept fighting gamely for second, just finding the winner a little too good.
Steel Zip ($17) was second last in the 12-horse field to the 600m. He fanned very wide rounding the home turn and made up considerable ground in the straight for a good third, beaten two lengths.
