The highly consistent Andrew Noblet-trained Sistine Demon has now won six of his last seven starts.

He began quickly and Damien Oliver soon took him to the lead. He was then able to steady the pace (first 800m 48.53). He turned for home with a nice lead and dug deep when challenged over the latter stages to score by a long neck, sprinting home in a smart 34.47 (last 600m).

Koonoomoo was second to the turn. She looked a strong chance when she challenged at the 200m but found the winner a bit too strong, fighting on for second.

Coronation Shallan was a handy fourth most of the way to the turn and battled on quite well in the straight to just take third.

Irish import The United States ($5) was third most of the way to the turn and kept battling on for four lengths fourth at his first Australian start.

Banca Mo came from ninth at the 600m for fifth while Rhythm To Spare ($3.90) was seventh, one off the rails, to the 600m. He looked a threat when he put in a run mid-stretch but then only battled to finish five lengths sixth in a slightly disappointing first-up effort.
