Hallowed Crown wins 2015 Blackwoods Crc Hobartville Group 2 $200,000 at Rosehill (NSW) 3yo, 1400m.
Hallowed Crown is now a winner of five of his six starts, resuming here to score another very good win, albeit narrowly. He began well from his good barrier (4) and settled in a nice spot, fifth on the rails. He improved along the rails from the 300m, challenged at the 100m and lifted gamely to score by a half neck at the post.
Sweynesse settled well in seventh place on the rails, he switched out at the 300m, challenged at the 100m and then fought on particularly well for (half neck) second in a smart first-up effort.
Kermadec travelled nicely back in eighth place, one off the rails. He fanned deep on passing the 400m and ran on strongly in an eye-catching performance for a close-up third. He is a lightly raced colt who looks to have a big future.
Shooting To Win was quickly away from his wide barrier (10) and settled well just behind the leader (Meursault). He looked the winner when he got to the front at the 200m and then fought on for a close-up fourth.
Scissor Kick was seventh, wide with cover. He made his run coming to the 300m and kept making ground for a sound (1.7 lengths) fifth.
Meursault led the field until the 200m before finishing (2.4 lengths) sixth.
Panzer Division raced outside the leader until into the straight before finishing (2.6 lengths) seventh whilst outsider Sworn To Silence caught the eye running on surprisingly well from last at the 600m, running on along the rails for (2.7 lengths) eighth.
