Whosyourmaster defended his Listed win in this race last year with another crunching finish down the outer. His victory last year was narrow and ditto today under 59kg again. The closer likes some give in the ground and a hot pace so got both things to suit and did bring in a last start Listed win so was in good form. In fact he has been on form this season as beaten a nasal hair into second in the G1 Railway (1200m) over summer. It was his eighth win from thirty-two starts so a one-in-four win rate is not bad considering he has placed eleven times too but even more telling is he has not won in eleven starts on good ground. His record is much better than it reads and/or should have been if he was kept away from hard tracks. The winning time of 1:09.67 showed the pace was solid up front as the closers ran one and two. She’s Slinky ran a blinder as this noted wet tracker is just a four-race winner. Adventador was a game third after racing on the pace and he can really dig in for a fight. Costa Viva was big for fourth as never on the track and working plus carried 1kg overweight. She has come back well this time in. Ruud Awakening ensured the pace was strong but it has been so long since she has saluted that rivals seem to know this and have a look regardless waiting for her to crack. Angelica Hall was not too bad once factoring in how she was ridden and a win is close at hand for the mare.
