Ambience wins 2015 Dulcify Qlty Listed $100,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo, 1600m.
Godolphin-raced filly Ambience advanced quickly from winning a Maiden Handicap (1400m) at Kembla on 12 September to taking out this Listed race in good style and could now be a prospect for the VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) next month. She settled nicely in second last place in the seven-horse field, fanned deep at the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and then drew away to score comfortably.
Wudang Mountain travelled well outside the leader (Cracklin’ Rosie), went to the front briefly at the 300m and then fought on hold second after seeming to have every chance.
Land's End was fourth, one out and one back, improved (three deep) nearing the home turn, challenged at the 300m and kept fighting on for third.
Schopenhauer was fifth on the rails, improved between runners on straightening and held on for (3.7 lengths) fourth while Laucala settled in last place, moved up deep coming to the home turn but failed to make much impression in the straight to finish (4.1 lengths) fifth.
