Sovereign Nation wins 2015 Jeep Stutt Stakes Group 2 $200,000 at Moonee Valley (VIC) 3yo, 1600m.
Stylish-looking colt Sovereign Nation showed his potential in stepping up quickly at his third race start to win this Group Two. He settled in seventh place, one off the rails, made a quick move (deep) from the 600m, hit the front rounding the home turn and then fought back strongly for an impressive win. He looks to have a very bright future.
Get The Picture settled in last place in the ten-horse field before commencing a wide run from the 700m. He moved up well (widest of all) rounding the home turn and kept responding well to grab a good second, in a really promising effort at his fourth race start.
Gredington settled in eighth place, one off the rails, made a wide move from the 700m, challenged strongly in the straight and then fought on particularly well for a very good third.
Loyalty Man led the field until the home turn and held on for (1.6 lengths) fourth.
Patch Adams was handy all the way and held on quite well for (2.3 lengths) fifth.
He's Our Rokkii was third at the 600m and kept battling on in the straight for (2.8 lengths) sixth while Ragnaar was shuffled back on the rails nearing the home turn and made late ground for (3.3 lengths) seventh and should appreciate stepping up in distance. He is a horse to watch when he gets to longer trips.
