Three-year-old filly Heatherly won her third race in succession with a brilliant display of speed. She was fast away from barrier three, went straight to the front and ran along at a brisk pace, increased her lead rounding the home turn and went on to score by a large margin in a strong pointer to her prospects in the Oakleigh Plate (Gr 1, 1100m) at this track on 27 February.

Politeness was a distant seventh, between runners, to the home turn, finally got into clear running at the 200m and then made good late ground for smart first-up second.

Just A Bullet chased the leader all the way, was a distant second at the 200m and was cut out of the position nearing the post to hold on for a sound third.

Three-year-old filly Lake Geneva was back in eighth place, got along the rails rounding the home turn and kept battling on for (6.7 lengths) fourth, going quite well at her first run this preparation.
