Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) runner-up Yankee Rose put up a really smart effort in winning here. She was handy in the early stages but was eased when caught three wide to settle in eighth place. She made a quick move deep nearing the home turn, dashed to the front at the 200m and then went on to score impressively.

Telperion was seventh between runners before getting a split at the 200m. He went to second at the 100m and battled on well to hold that position, but stood no chance with the winner.

Faraway Town was near last to the home turn. She got between runners at the 200m and then made good late ground to take a promising third.

Rivo Boy, having only his second start, was near last to the 600m. He saved ground rounding the home turn, continued to make ground for a sound fourt and looking suited to further.
