Consistent Bjorn Baker-trained mare Lubiton, took out her second stakes victory and her first at Group level in taking out this race in impressive fashion. She began well, went to the front and then ran along well for Blake Shinn, several lengths clear, at a solid tempo (first 1000m 59.32). She got clear again on straightening and then went on to a smart win in track record time of 1:34.42.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Botttrained mare Savapinski chased the leader, racing back in second place most of the way and kept fighting on gamely to hold second by a length and quarter, staging a good effort.

The favourite Invincibella raced back in fourth place, improved nicely on the rails nearing the home turn, briefly looked a threat on turning for home and then kept battling on for third, a nose behind the second-placed runner.
