Classy Sydney filly Combat Kitty has been injured and will miss the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast on January 14.
Warwick Farm trainer Matt Smith reported that Combat Kitty had suffered a leg injury, derailing her preparation for the rich Gold Coast race.
Smith had been planning to give Combat Kitty a barrier trial at Warwick Farm on Friday before sending her to Queensland.
Combat Kitty was runner-up to Karuta Queen in this year's Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast in January and was favourite to win the Guineas after her strong spring form in Sydney and Melbourne.
Corey Brown was booked to ride Combat Kitty in the Guineas.
Impressive Wyong Magic Millions 3YO winner Safusa will be the new favourite for the Guineas.
