Patinack Farm's dual Group winning mare No Evidence Needed has been retired after she returned sore following a track gallop yesterday.
Nominated for the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) and the Wiggle Stakes at Warwick Farm on Saturday, Team Patinack did not accept with the mare instead electing to retire the five-year-old following a track gallop yesterday.
The Shamardal mare had resumed in fine fashion last start when claiming a second Group win in the Southern Cross Stakes at Rosehill on April 25 with the Group 1 Coolmore Classic her main campaign goal this autumn.
The last start success was her first run since May when fourth behind Black Caviar in the Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) after she chipped a joint and was subsequently given a six month spell.
No Evidence Needed is expected to be a valuable broodmare prospect with the mare boasting an impressive black type résumé.
As well as the Southern Cross Stakes win last start, No Evidence Needed claimed the 2010 Group 2 Let's Elope Stakes (1400m) beating the likes of Response and Lady Lynette.
The mare also possesses a pair of Group 1 placings finishing second in the 2010 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and also the Schweppes Oaks (2400m) behind stablemate Small Minds.
No Evidence Needed exits racing with six wins and seven minor placings from 23 starts.
Her career prizemoney earnings came close to $650,000.
