Top Sydney jockey Corey Brown will be reunited with classy Kiwi four-year-old He's Remarkable in the $125,000 Newcastle Newmarket at Broadmeadow next week.
Trainer Roger James has confirmed the a Newcastle start for He's Remarkable en route to the G1 Doncaster Mile at Randwick on April 21.
Brown rode He's Remarkable when third to Testa My Patience and Darwin Cup winner Hawks Bay in the G2 Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley last October.
Kerrin McEvoy then rode the Kiwi when he won over 1600m at Flemington on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival on November 5 and again when he was first home in the G1 Railway Stakes at Ascot in Perth on November 19.
Stewards subsequently upheld a controversial protest and relegated He's Remarkable to second.
James is pleased with He's Remarkable's progress and holds no fears tackling the Newmarket first-up as the horse has won at the start of each of his previous two preparations. He won a Taupo Maiden (1300m) in September of 2010 and then last September was successful first-up over 1400m at Ruakaka.
Early Newmarket entries include the Chris Waller pair Triple Elegance and Snow Alert, Latin News (David Payne), Cabernet (Grahame Begg), Melbourne sprinter Under The Eiffel (Tony Vasil) and Star Of Octagonal (Todd Howlett).
Star of Octagonal was partnered by race rider Robert Thompson in an exhibition gallop with Torio's Quest between races at Broadmeadow last Saturday.
Newmarket entries close on Thursday.
