Red Cadeaux Quarantined At Werribee

Last year's Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux is one of a handful of horses to have been placed in the quarantine barn at Werribee to protect against a potential virus.

Lloyd Williams-owned galloper Hartani had been showing signs of an infection and was locked down in quarantine. Werribee officials acted quickly to also quarantine Red Cadeaux, Lost In The Moment and Cavalry Man who had been stabled near the Williams galloper.

None of those horses are showing signs of having contracted the infection.

The move comes after Red Cadeaux reunited with jockey Michael Rodd this morning in a leisurely track gallop at Werribee.

Rodd hasn't ridden the British stayer in a race since running a narrow second to Dunaden in last year's Melbourne Cup.

The classy jockey, who won Australia's biggest race on Efficient in 2007, was delighted with how much the horse had progressed in 12 months.
