A number of runners from the John Moore stable will take another step towards next month's Hong Kong International race meeting this Sunday including the highly promising Packing Whiz.
John Moore will saddle up a large contingent of runners in each of the key lead up races this Sunday with Packing Whiz one of the top chances in the Jockey Club Cup (2000m).
Packing Whiz holds an entry for the lucrative Hong Kong International Cup (2000m) on December 9 with the emerging middle distance type unbeaten in two starts this campaign.
The Trade Fair entire claimed his first Hong Kong Group success last start and can take another step in the right direction on Sunday.
“Packing Whiz could be something out of the hat,” Moore said.
“He has done everything right and Prebble is very enthusiastic about his chances in the event.
“Going into the 2000m in December I think I've got a pretty good hand.”
Stablemates who could join Packing Whiz in the Hong Kong International Cup include Irian and Zaidan who also run in Sunday's Jockey Club Cup.
Moore on Sunday will saddle up potential runners in both the Hong Kong International Mile and also the International Sprint.
“The horses are looking very good at the present moment,” Moore told Sky Sports Radio.
“We've got quite a few runners in the 1200m, the mile and the 2000m and all of them are just starting to hit their straps.
“I am very happy with the way things are going.”
Captain Sweet is one of those runners who will try and bounce back after disappointing in the Premier Bowl (1200m) last start.
“Captain Sweet this time with Weichong Marwing on board I would think should be able to get across and get up in the first four and he is definitely each way value,” Moore said.
“Captain Sweet has done everything right up until last run where he got trapped deep and it is the sort of run you have to forget.
“He is probably the better of them [Moore's International Sprint hopes] at the present moment but he still probably isn't up to the Lucky Nine's or the Little Bridges but they are coming back off a Japanese tour and you just don't know what is going on with them internally.”
