Ed Dunlop's globetrotting superstar Red Cadeaux is set to make his first appearance in Britain in almost a year in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The 2011 Melbourne Cup runner-up enjoyed another outstanding winter campaign, claiming the biggest victory of his career in the Hong Kong Vase in December before going on to finish second in the Dubai World Cup and third in the Tenno Sho in Japan.
The seven-year-old was unable to make his presence felt in the International Cup in Singapore last month, but Dunlop reports his gelding to have returned to Newmarket in fine fettle.
The trainer said: "He arrived home in very good condition and the plan is to run in the Hardwicke.
"After all the flying and everything, we'll just have to see he is over the next week or two, but at the moment he seems very well."
Another Dunlop inmate with an entry in the Hardwicke is exciting American recruit Unbridled Command, winner of the Grade One Hollywood Derby last November.
However, the four-year-old will not be ready for the summer showpiece meeting.
"He won't get there. There are no definite plans for him, but he won't be ready for Ascot," said Dunlop.
