Trainer Leon Corstens has nominated Cox Plate hopeful Commanding Jewel to run in Saturday's Group 3 Cockram Stakes at Caulfield.
The three-quarter sister to unbeaten superstar Atlantic Jewel will face stiff competition if she lines up in the race with Lady Melksham, Octavia, Jolie Blonde, Oasis Bloom and You're So Good all eyeing a Cockram start.
Commanding Jewel hasn't raced since Damien Oliver piloted her to a dominant win in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) in October last year.
Oliver, who hasn't raced since the spring due to suspension, last week declared he wanted to ride the mare in this year's Cox Plate.
Corstens is also looking at the Group 2 Let's Elope Stakes (1400m) next month as a potential spring launching pad for Commanding Jewel.
