The field is headed by international raider Forgotten Voice after he missed a start in last Saturday's Caulfield Cup when drawn as an emergency.

The Nicky Henderson-trained nine-year-old is equal top weight with 58kg with Sandown Classic winner and Australian Cup placegetter Tanby.

Tanby, a stablemate of Caulfield Cup winner Fawkner, was also runner-up in the 2011 Geelong Cup.

Despite his winning form in the UK sits around 40th on the Melbourne Cup order of entry.

Another Caulfield Cup emergency Ibicenco, last year's Geelong Cup third Brigantin, Australian Derby runner-up Polish Knight, Goldoni and Moudre are the other Melbourne Cup contenders hoping to improve their positions.

Moudre, runner-up in the 2010 Geelong Cup behind subsequent Melbourne Cup winner Americain, needs to finish in the first three on Wednesday to pass the Melbourne Cup ballot.
