Dual Grade 1 winner World Of Trouble to sit out shuttle
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Cornerstone Stud have reduced their fees by 25 per cent for the 2020 breeding season and they have also taken the decision not to shuttle dual Grade 1 winner World Of Trouble (Kantharos).
“We as a farm had received some healthy SA and interstate support in early January, but frustratingly we have felt encumbered to postpone the arrival of World Of Trouble with the onset of Covid-19,” said Cornerstone’s Sam Hayes.
“Although I’ve an unwavering belief in World Of Trouble’s credentials, speed and sireline, I just felt that the SA Thoroughbred industry was not in a position to throw its collective weight behind a $22,000 dual Group 1 winning sprinter and consequently we will review our position in 2021.”
The roster is headed by Sir Prancealot (Tamayuz) - who will have his first runners in Australia next season - will stand for a fee of $9,900 (inc GST), having stood the 2019 season at a fee of $14,300 (inc GST).
The son of Tamayuz (Nayef) is the sire of seven stakes winners in the northern hemisphere, including Grade 1 winner Lady Prancealot.
Meanwhile, Ambidexter (Commands) will stand for a fee of $4,400, down from $5,500 (inc GST) last year.
The stud’s roster is rounded out by Valentia (Fastnet), who stood for $7,700 (inc GST) last season, but has had his fee shaved back to $5,500 (inc GST) for the 2020 breeding season.
