Some of the most well-related 3YOs in the country to do battle on Wednesday.
Wednesday's opening race at Warwick Farm might be a $55,000 maiden, but that does not accurately reflect what is at stake.
The 1400-metre event for three-year-olds contains a host of horses who would increase their value with a city win, even if in maiden grade.
One such filly is the Chris Waller-trained Cabaca, who will be stepping out for the first start of her Classic season after second and fifth placings earlier this winter.
By Fastnet Rock, Cabaca is out of the Shamardal mare Berimbau, which makes her a half-sister to Imperatriz, the latest star horse in New Zealand.
A daughter of I Am Invincible, Imperatriz made jaws drop last Saturday when she obliterated her rivals by almost six lengths in the G2 Foxbridge Plate (1200m).
That victory took her record to nine wins from 12 starts, a CV that includes Group 1 wins in the Levin Classic (1600m) and New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1600m).
That has all occurred since Cabaca was knocked down to Peter Tighe's Magic Bloodstock for $300,000 at last year's Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
That was $60,000 less than Te Akau Racing's David Ellis paid for Imperatriz at the corresponding sale 12 months' earlier.
The only other foal from Berimbau, a daughter of Encosta de Lago and So Striking (Pre Emptive Strike), is Sonority, who was retired after failing to place in five starts in New Zealand.
Cabaca is one of a number of beautifully-bred types in Wednesday's opening race, with others including:
Armalite: Son of Zoustar and Impulsive, who was the last foal of legendary producer Procrastinate.
Rediener: First-starter who boasts a stallion's pedigree, being a son of Redoute's Choice and the More Than Ready mare Wiener, who is a half-sister to Snitzel.
Scientist: $600,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast colt by Zoustar who is the first foal from dual Group 1-winning filly Global Glamour.
Beautiful Heart: By Snitzel out of Harlech, she is a half-sister to Hungry Heart and also carries the Yulong green and white after being passed in for $650,000 at Inglis Easter last year.
Avebury: By Savabeel out of O'Reilly mare O'Dianne, which makes her a sister to this year's Queensland Derby runner-up Paternal.
Galactic Legend: Daughter of Deep Field and Whitula, a half-sister to Mazu and Headway, who cost $325,000 the Magic Millions January Sale.
Makalu: Another Gold Coast yearling who, at $750,000, is the most expensive yearling in the field. By Redoute's Choice, he is out of Mount Zero, who counts Golden Slipper winner Farnan as part of the family.
Ithadtobezou: Bought for $340,000 by Cambridge Stud at Easter last year, she is a daughter of Zoustar and Define, who is a daughter of Group 1 winner Fine Society.
Great Southernland: Son of Fastnet Rock and Happy Hannah who traces back to the Joie Denise family, famous for the likes of Tuesday Joy and Sunday Joy.
Whisker To Whisker: Tait family homebred by Pierro who is the first foal out of VRC Oaks and Queen Of The Turf Stakes runner-up and dual Emancipation Stakes winner Zanbagh.
