Global Glamour was a star on the racetrack and she is now on her way as a broodmare after Scientist became the first winner for the dual Group 1 victor when he won Wednesday's first race at Warwick Farm.

The son of Zoustar turned in a gritty performance to fight back after being headed by fellow blueblood Rediener and score victory at his second start.

The three-year-old bay colt is the first foal from Global Glamour, a daughter of Star Witness and Melbourne and Adelaide winner Spectacula who sold for $65,000 at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Global Glamour was easily the best-performed product of that Testa Rossa mare, winning the Flight Stakes and Thousand Guineas – both 1600-metre Group 1 races for three-year-old fillies – in 2016 before returning in 2017 to win the G2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) and Tristarc Stakes (1400m).

Global Glamour's career was overseen by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, who fittingly are also the trainers of Scientist.

Given her record, it was no surprise Global Glamour was one of the stars of the 2019 National Broodmare Sale, where she was knocked down to Coolmore, Gerry Harvey and James Bester for $1,550,000 while carrying the foal who would become Scientist.

Global Glamour was put to Justify after having Scientist and produced a filly who sold to Waterhouse and Bott, in partnership with Kestrel Bloodstock, for $900,000 earlier this year at the Magic Millions January Sale.

She has been covered by I Am Invincible the past two seasons but missed last year having earlier produced a foal that died after birth.

Scientist is nominated for both the G1 Golden Rose (1400m) and G1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) as are many of his rivals in Wednesday's event.

Runner-up Rediener is a son of Redoute's Choice and Wiener, who is a half-sister to Snitzel, while third placegetter Avebury is a sister to this year's Queensland Derby runner-up Paternal.
