Spirit Of Boom filly takes Fastnet Rock mare’s record to five foals for five winners.
Blue Diamond Preview winner De Sonic Boom is not the first Black Type winner out of Demasheen, but the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained two-year-old might be the best.
The daughter of Spirit Of Boom is a half-sister to Laverrod, who won a Hareeba Stakes.
De Sonic Boom maintained Demasheen's perfect record with her win in the $200,000 Group 3 fillies' Preview, which made her the fifth winner from five to race for the daughter of Fastnet Rock who won two of eight starts.
Demasheen made an appearance of her own in a Blue Diamond Preview, finishing fifth in the 2012 edition won by Malasun.
She had a straight-forward start to her career in the breeding barn with her first four seasons resulting in four foals.
Her first two visits were to Equiano, producing Quideem and The Amazing Tahlia, who are both multiple winners, but not to the level of her third foal, Laverrod.
The result of a visit to another Swettenham Stud stallion, Toronado, Laverrod headed to Perth after being bought by Wally Daly's Yenrise Pty Ltd for $270,000 at the 2018 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
He was placed six times at Black Type in WA, but his biggest win came in Victoria when he won the Listed $200,000 Hareeba Stakes at Mornington in 2021 the start before snaring a big payday in the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Sprint.
After having Laverrod, Demasheen was sent to Written Tycoon and then offered, in-foal, at the 2017 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, where she sold to Whitling Bloodstock for $120,000.
Demasheen produced a colt in 2017, now known as Go Forward, who was sold for $135,000 at the 2019 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and is plying his trade in Western Australia, where he has taken his record to five wins from 20 starts.
Demasheen was not served in 2017 and then slipped after her first visit to Spirit Of Boom in 2018.
She returned to the Queensland stallion in 2019 and had De Sonic Boom, who was offered as part of the Supreme Thoroughbreds draft at last year's Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, where she was snapped up by James Bester for $300,000.
Bester races De Sonic Boom with a range of partners, including Michael Kirwan, Kia Ora Stud and Rob McClure, whose black and lime colours Blake Shinn carried when victorious on Thursday.
"If they make contact to send you one, you're more than happy to have it in the stable," Sam Freedman of the group who race De Sonic Boom.
"They've been really loyal to us for a long time the McClures, so big thanks to them and hopefully she can just keep improving."
Freedman said De Sonic Boom would now head to the $300,000 Group 2 Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude (1100m) at Sandown on February 11 before a tilt at the Group 1 Blue Diamond (1200m) on February 25.
After her visits to Spirit Of Boom, Demasheen was sent to Blue Point in 2020 but failed to get in-foal, returned to Toronado in 2021 and last year had a filly before being served by Pinatubo.
