Last year’s Empire Rose Stakes winner sells for $2.3m.
A date with one of Yulong Stud's headline stallions beckons for Icebath, who was an early star at Inglis' Chairman's Sale on Thursday night.
The daughter of Sacred Falls is bound for Yulong's Nagambie base in Victoria after being bought for $2.3 million at the blue-chip sale.
"She was a nice physical, obviously with a pedigree behind her," Yulong's chief operating officer Sam Fairgray said.
"She's got some really nice blood in the family, if you go back she's got Savabeel and Centaine, who have been good broodmare sires, so we're really delighted to get her.
"At this stage she'll either go to Written Tycoon or Pierata, so we'll just get her home and assess what we do with her."
Last year's Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) was the first Group 1 win for Icebath, but she did win the inaugural running of the $2 million The Invitation in 2021.
She also owns five Group 1 minor placings, including a second and third placing in the Doncaster Mile, and a George Main Stakes second placing to Anamoe.
"She was placed in some very good races against some very good horses, so hopefully she can pass that onto her progeny and we can bring them through the yearling sales in years to come."
