Four trial wins for first-season sires at Randwick.

Big guns I Am Invincible, Snitzel and Zoustar were too the fore when Sydney's first official two-year-old trials of the season were run at Randwick on Monday, but so too were some stallions whose progeny are yet to hit the racetrack.

Three first-season sires had winners including one, Blue Point, who won two trials.

The Darley shuttler won back-to-back trials with the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Scampi and Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott's Gerringong.

Scampi announced himself a leading contender for the Listed Breeders' Plate at Randwick on September 30 with an effortless win in Trial 9.

A $750,000 buy from the Magic Millions January Sale, Scampi is out of Sistonic, who is a close relation to Black Caviar.

Sistonic is by Bel Esprit out of Danavia who, like Black Caviar's dam Helsinge, is a daughter of Scandivania.

Scampi covered his 843-metre trial in 49.36 seconds, which was 0.10secs quicker than Blue Point's daughter Gerringong went to win Trial 10.

Bred and retained to race by John Singleton, Gerringong is out of the More Than Ready mare This Time Bridie, who is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Fenway.

Blue Point stands for $44,000 at Darley's Victorian farm, which is only a few kilometres from Yulong's Nagambie base, where Pierata now stands, also for $44,000.

The son of Pierro had $220,000 Inglis Classic purchase Fearless win the third trial in 49.69secs for Peter and Paul Snowden.

The other first-season sire to have a winner on Monday was Newgate Farm's $11,000 stallion Tassort, who won Trial 6 in 48.98secs with Lady Tassort.

Another from the Waterhouse/Bott yard, Lady Tassort is out of the Not A Single Doubt mare Ice Cream Lady.
