Catalogue released for New Zealand’s premier yearling sale.
Still buoyant after last week's record-breaking Ready To Run Sale, New Zealand Bloodstock has turned its attention to its major yearling sale, releasing the catalogue for the six-day Karaka Yearling Sale.
Siblings to Group 1 stars including Prowess, Lucia Valentina, Te Akau Shark, Pennyweka, Sierra Sue and Ruthless Dame will be offered along with the first foals out of Group 1-performed mares Miss Sentimental, Rondinella, Evalina, Bargain and Bavella.
Book 1, which runs from Sunday, January 28 to Tuesday, January 30, comprises 682 yearlings, while there will be 442 youngsters offered in Book 2, which runs Wednesday, January 31 to Friday, February 2.
There are more than 100 sires represented in the catalogue, including established stars Savabeel, I Am Invincible, Snitzel, Proisir and Justify, plus a host of first-season sires, including New Zealand-based stallions Hello Youmzain, Circus Maximus, King Of Comedy, Banquo, Admire Mars and Ancient Spirit.
"After the record-breaking Sale last week, we are looking forward to seeing that momentum roll into Karaka 2024," New Zealand Bloodstock's managing director Andrew Seabrook said.
"The catalogues are the biggest numbers we've had in years and the quality of the pedigrees and types on offer easily matches it.
"We are buoyed by the demand for our Kiwi horses and our team will be busy in the coming months promoting the Sale and getting the best possible buying bench established."
