A couple of youngsters with links to Blue Diamond winners will be offered on Monday.
Hayasugi etched her name into Blue Diamond history when she completed the series treble on Saturday, matching the effort of Midnight Fever who is the only other filly to win the Blue Diamond Preview, Prelude and Final.
It is therefore appropriate that Midnight Fever's name is up in lights heading into Monday's Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale, where a descendant of the former Lindsay Park filly will be offered.
Lot 71 of the one-day sale is a filly by Dirty Work out of the Haradasun mare Lumic, who is a granddaughter of Midnight Fever.
The 1987 Blue Diamond heroine, a daughter of Luskin Star, was retired at the end of her three-year-old season and had 11 foals, nine of which raced for seven winners, including Campbell Fever, who also finished second in the Listed Talindert Stakes and was placed at Group 3 level.
Campbell Fever, a daughter of Bluebird, was also a prolific producer, getting 11 to the track for eight winners, including Listed SA Stakes winner Woppitt (Danzero).
Campbell Fever's second-last foal was Lumic, who didn't win in seven starts but filled a minor placing on four occasions, but has a perfect record in the breeding barn with her three to race all winners, headlined by Jupitus, a city winner in Melbourne and Sydney.
Lumic's Dirty Work filly is a chestnut and will be offered by Armidale Stud midway through the session at Carrick, just outside Launceston.
She is not the only yearling Armidale Stud will offer who boasts a Blue Diamond winner in their female line with Lot 14 a grandson of 2007 Blue Diamond winner Sleek Chassis.
The colt by 2020 Blue Diamond runner-up Hanseatic is out of the More Than Ready mare Burnished, who was one of only two named-foals from Sleek Chassis (Flying Spur).
Burnished has had three foals to the track, all of them winners, including city winners Athlete (Helmet) and Golden Script (Written Tycoon).
Those Armidale youngsters are among 140 lots catalogued, with other lots of interest including.
Lot 15: A filly by King's Legacy out of Buzzing Along, which makes her a half-sister to former star Tassie filly Deroche (Needs Further).
Lot 19: A filly by Gold Standard out of Cardinal Court (Valixir), a half-sister to Coolmore Classic winner Regal Cheer, who is the dam of Oakleigh Plate and Newmarket Handicap placegetter Knoydart.
Lot 29: A filly by Frosted out of Ehor (Val Royal), who is the dam of former star youngster Turk Warrior (Outreach). The Grenville Stud filly is a half-sister to Lustica, the dam of Lot 72, a colt by Foxwedge, while Lot 79 boasts similar bloodlines, a colt by Stratosphere out of another of Ehor's foals, the Wanted mare Morgatoche.
Lot 33: A daughter of Levendi who is a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Moment Of Change, being out of the Metal Storm mare Europium.
Lot 46: A close relation to the pride of the Tassie sale, Mystic Journey, with the Foxwedge colt's dam Gold Phoenix a half-sister to the inaugural All-Star Mile winner.
Lot 83: Only a small percentage of Tasmanian horses earn $1m in their career, but Lady Lynette was one of those and her half-sister Need A Queen is the dam of this filly by Exceedance.
Lot 132: Another recent Tassie-bred who went on to achieve great things is 2015 Caulfield Cup winner Mongolian Khan and his half-sister Vela Blue (Brazen Beau) is the dam of this colt by Zululand.
