Lady Of Camelot has provided Miss Debutante with a Golden Slipper winner
It was a case of third time lucky for star juvenile producer Miss Debutante when Lady Of Camelot won Saturday's Golden Slipper.
The daughter of Written Tycoon became the third product of the daughter of Fastnet Rock to run in the world's richest two-year-old race when she took her place in the 1200-metre Group 1 at Rosehill.
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained speedster is the third foal from Miss Debutante, who won half of her eight starts including the Listed Denise's Joy Stakes at Scone.
She carried the yellow and white colours of Sir Owen Glen, which were sported by Blake Shinn when he partnered her to victory in Saturday's $5 million event.
Those colours were also worn by Miss Debutante's first foal, Queen Of The Ball, a daughter of I Am Invincible who finished eighth in Fireburn's Golden Slipper.
Platinum Jubilee, who is by Zoustar, last year finished 12th in the Slipper won by Shinzo.
The three half-sisters all ran in Group company on Saturday with Queen Of The Ball finishing down the track behind Imperatriz in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes at The Valley, the same venue where Platinum Jubilee finished unplaced in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes.
The Golden Slipper victory was Lady Of Camelot's second from four starts to go with the brilliant 2-3/4-length win in the Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m).
In between she finished a game second in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield, having finished fourth in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) in late September at her only other appearance.
After Lady Of Camelot, Miss Debutante had her first colt in 2022 when she foaled a son of Flying Artie, had a filly by I Am Invincible in on October 27 last year and missed after a mid-December union with Zoustar.
The Slipper victory was also a triumph for Yulong stallion Written Tycoon, who now becomes a multiple winner of the race having produced Capitalist – who was also ridden by Shinn – in 2016.
