Rising star stallion to miss this breeding season

The Autumn Sun will miss the upcoming breeding season after failing to appropriately recover from the pelvic injury he suffered in March.

The son of Redoute's Choice has been confined to box-rest since, but just over a month out the September 1 start of the breeding season it was announced he would have this season off.

"A scan earlier this week revealed his injury is healing but not to the extent necessary for him to be able to serve this coming season," Arrowfield Stud said in a statement late on Wednesday afternoon.

"The Autumn Sun is otherwise in good health and coping well with his recuperation.

"We are confident he will make a full recovery and resume stud duties in the 2025 season."

The soon-to-be nine-year-old has risen to become one of Australia's most exciting young stallions, having provided three Group 1 winners this year and provided the trifecta in this year's Group 1 Australasian Oaks.

His Group 1 winners, Autumn Angel, Coco Sun and Vibrant Sun, were conceived off his introductory fee of $77,000, while he has stood the past four seasons at $66,000.
