In form galloper Battle Street should take a power of beating in today's Hygain Release Handicap (race 6) at Tamworth.
The Scone based galloper could arguably be unbeaten in four runs this time in and looks set for another big run over 1400m in this Class 3 race.
Prepared by Luke Griffith, Battle Street has raced only seven times for three wins – all three coming this campaign.
Fresh-up he raced over 900m at Scone and showed enough dash to lead, kicking strongly in the straight to score a 1.3 length win in a good form race.
He then raced here at 1200m in a Class 1 and after drawing wide crossed to sit second.
He loomed up in the straight and again ran away, this time scoring a comfortable 2.5 length win.
Next start was over 1200m in a Class 2 at Wyong where he drew an inside gate which ultimately was his undoing.
Settling fourth on the fence, he was held in a pocket there and blocked for a run before finishing a luckless sixth, beaten 2.5 lengths, behind She's Number One in a good form race.
Last start, Battle Street returned home and tackled 1300m in a Class 3.
He drew wide but crossed to sit second in the clear, racing there throughout before clearing out in the straight to score a three length win.
That was a career high rating for the gelding and he is expected to run up to that again here.
He tackles the same class, albeit with three kilos more, but perhaps finds a slightly easier field this time.
He has drawn the middle of the field and from there will be able to slide across and sit just off the lead.
That will suit the Tamworth track and he should be kicking strongly and prove hard to beat in the straight.
Big Cat Drummer ran well fresh and looks the main danger.
The gelding doesn't win out of turn but is fairly consistent, last campaign weighing in at his last four runs including placings at his last two in Benchmark 70's.
Fresh-up was here over 1200m in a Benchmark 60 where he settled third last and was there throughout before running on well to finish runner-up.
He has trained at the track, where he has started seven times for a win and five minors, his only unplaced run being a fourth.
His last win was over 1400m in this grade and on his honest record here and second-up he should be further improved for today's run.
Etalica has drawn wide but should be right in this on his best form.
Last start he didn't have a lot of luck and finished sixth, and like Big Cat Drummer doesn't win out of turn but on his best can feature here.
Best Of Memories is fitter for three runs back and wasn't far away when fourth last time.
He is another with an honest overall record and should run well again.
