General Offer is unbeaten in two runs since joining the Mick Price yard and he looks well placed to make it a hat-trick when he steps out in today’s Swettenham Stud 78 Handicap (1300m) at Sandown.
General Offer had shown good ability prior to joining this Price stable, he was tried in the 2011 Caulfield Guineas, but he hadn’t made the most of that talent.
First up off a 408 day break he was able to make a winning start to life in his new surrounds, getting up strongly late to win over 1100m at Traralgon.
He took good improvement from that win when stepping out at Kyneton last time. There he powered away from a useful looking field, winning by a widening 3.5 lengths on the line in the best figures of the day.
That win suggested the penny has dropped and he looks capable of working his way through to stronger races now, starting with today.
His biggest danger today might just come from his lightly raced stablemate, Onpicalo.
Oncipalo won on debut at Seymour back in August and then came here at his second start and knocked off the talented Hvasstan over 1400m.
Hvasstan went on to show himself a smart colt through the spring, winning the Norman Robinson and running fourth in the VRC Derby.
Oncipalo was then sound giving weight away in a handy little 68 at Mornington prior to a spell. He makes plenty of interest here.
Komodo showed a good turn of foot to score in a valuable maiden first up last campaign and then went on to show form that measures up here through the rest of his prep.
It will be no surprise to see him back here in good order and he is definitely one to keep under notice for multiples.
Red Eclipse and Horacio are both in winning form and look to round out the chances here.
Horacio running for the in-form Robbie Griffiths stable has a good bit of upside and is one that must be respected.
