Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 31.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Wyong, Nowra, Echuca, Warrnambool, Rockhampton and Port Lincoln.
WYONG: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM
The Gosford Guineas now where MIDNIGHT DYNAMITE (2) looks the one following a narrow defeat at Randwick most recently. He's racing well and building an impressive record. He should be close to the speed and he can continue to improve. DANCE TO THE BOOM (3) is a lightly raced filly who got the job done on resumption at Canterbury. She's thrown in the deep end now, but she's shown plenty of class and it wouldn't surprise to see her continue on her winning ways. FROEBEL STAR (4) is better than what we saw first-up and suspect she'll be ridden closer this time. Can improve sharply. SHOHISHA (5) is also a player in the small field.

NOWRA: RACE 4 @ 3:54 PM
BRAVISSIMA (6) is an ex-Victorian making her NSW debut for Matt Dale. She raced well in some tougher fields than this last season and with a couple of gear changes, she will be ready to run a big race fresh up from a good draw. On top. TREZZAMINA (7) worked very hard 3 wide at Goulburn last start and was only knocked off late, finishing second. She gets a big swing in her draw this time and can go one better. DYLAN'S LAD (3) may have found that his last run came too soon when finishing fifth here 16 days ago. He has more space between runs this time and can make amends, especially from a handy gate. Each way value. SEAL TEAM SIX (2) ran out of condition fresh up at Queanbeyan nearly 2 weeks ago and will be much sharper second up. He has winning form on this track and is worth including in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Bravissima to win.
ECHUCA: RACE 5 @ 4:05 PM
CHASE YOUR DREAMS (9) ran on well on debut to place then was put away. Fitter for recent trials and jump-outs and will go close if runs up to debut effort. HOLD MY DRINK (6) produced an eye-catching effort on debut in better company last start over 1203m at Kyneton when third, beaten 0.8 lengths. Nicely drawn on the fence and will prove tough to beat. STAR OF TENNYSON (3) also resumes and while may need further worth noting the fresh up run on debut was a good fourth over a similar journey. Expected to be winding up late. BOULDER JACK (1) was a narrow second latest and is nearing a win. Gets chance.

WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 1 @ 1:55 PM
LA VIE EN (8) resumes having been well supported to win the Vobis Gold Strike on debut here, beaten just two lengths by Harpalee over 1000m. She's been given plenty of time to mature and finds a winnable maiden here on her home deck. ALL THE WAY BABY (3) ran well fresh at Werribee when second over this trip. She'll be fitter for that run and won't need to improve much to be going one better. GEFFINA (6) has placed in all three runs to date, last seen finishing second to the very much in-form Fickle over this route. That form reads well and she may have improved further over a short let up. PENTONVILLE ROAD (9) is a Santos filly on debut who can run well on her home deck. FLICK ROLL (4) has been about the mark of late and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: La Vie En to win.
ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 4 @ 2:21 PM
TRACK TALE (4) resumes here but the form she showed when last in work was more than good enough to be competitive in a race like this. Is yet to miss the top-two in nine starts around this circuit and doesn't know how to put in a poor one. Should be right there when the whips are cracking. MEDIA EMPIRE (2) is a three-time winner over this track and trip and gets plenty of weight relief with the 3kg claim. Rates a serious contender on best form. CAPTAIN FOX (5) will be rock-hard fit for this and draws low with the claim. Ticks a few boxes. OUTBACK ACTION (1) is first-up here but has only missed a drum once in four fresh attempts. In the mix.

PORT LINCOLN: RACE 4 @ 3:45 PM
SPEAKEASY (8) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race last time out when getting within a length of the winner over 1550m at Bordertown after being in contention on the turn. Needs to be at her best to beat this field but she is up to the challenge. CHANTISS (11) last appeared five-and-a-half weeks ago over 2050m at Strathalbyn when she finished second. This is her first run for the J Dunn & K Bishop stable. Drops back in trip off 37-day freshen and a bold showing is anticipated. ONEMORE MARSHALL (3) has been mixing his form recently. Won't find this as tough. Has winning claims. ISUSPECTJEU (7) did a great job to score over this course and distance last start to maintain her good form of late. Nicely placed to feature in the finish again.
