3 minute read

The ever consistent Jolly Joker has been in good form this preparation and looks well placed in the Sam’s Liquid Waste & Hire Benchmark 70 Handicap (1000m) at Dubbo today.

The Gratz Vella-trained runner has finished in the money all four starts this preparation, coming into this on the back of a last start second placing at Canberra.

That run rates well in this company and with the 3kg claim for apprentice jockey Koby Jennings he will only be required to carry 55kg and should prove very hard to hold out.

The eight-year-old gelding rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings and has a good career record. Despite this being a competitive race Jolly Joker looks very hard to go past.

A majority of his wins have come over the 1000m dash and he will go forward and put himself in the race.

Hot Diggity has also been racing well of late and was good when third in a benchmark 75 and has also finished in the money all four starts this preparation.

He has drawn well in barrier 2 and will go forward to settle up on the speed with Jolly Joker. Very good record at the trip and looks a big danger.

General Sherman has been racing in harder of late and drops back in grade after a moderate run at Hawkesbury last time out. Has been slightly below his best of late but a return to form will see him in the mix.

These three look the main chances however Shadow Force who comes into this on the back of a last start win also must be respected.

The four-year-old is only lightly raced but has won four of his eight career starts and with only 55kg is sure to make his presence felt.
