Gary Portelli can cash in on a swag of scratchings at Gosford this afternoon with Diamond Tiara in the Benchmark 65 Egroup Carpark Management Handicap (2100m).
The race originally shaped as an interesting battle between Gai Waterhouse’s Tamariz and Guy Walter’s Knead The Dough, but both have been scratched paving the way for Portelli’s three-year-old filly to grab a second career win.
She’s picked up a couple of midfield finishes of late at this track, but looks thrown in at the weights today with Courtney Van Der Werf’s claim bringing her down to just 52kg.
Her recent form rates her clear of this lot. Timeform takes a closer look at the race.
