McNair Runner To Be Hoff And Gone At Taree

3 minute read

Hoffenhorry will look to build on his last start success when stepping out in a Class 2 (1260m) at Taree today.

Formerly with the Chris Waller stable, Hoffenhorry resumed for John McNair at Gosford when running a close sixth, only beaten 2L before dropping back in grade to win at Muswellbrrok last start.

That effort rates well for this having carried 59kg on that occasion and with the 2kg claim for apprentice jockey Taylor Marhsall will only be required to carry 55kg today.

The four-year-old gelding showed good ability as a juvenile and whilst he never quite lived up to expectations in the city looks very well placed in this company.

The son of Haradasun has drawn the inside barrier and not expecting him to get back as far as he has on previous occasions.

His last start success rates well on weight adjusted Timeform figures and he looms as the one they have to beat today.

Miello Has placed at three of her past four including a 0.5L second at Kempsey in a BM60 over 1250m last time out. Drawn to get the run of the race and has won her only time at the course previously.

Stays over a similar trip today and looks a big danger on what she has produced in recent times and expecting her to be in the finish of this.

Koori Flyer was solid when resuming at Wyong last start, although fifth was only beaten 2.5 lengths. Has not drawn the best but will take benefit from that run and back in grade should measure up.

The five-year-old mare does not posses the best career record but stays under notice here on what she produced last time out and with some luck will be thereabouts.

Blinkin Speedy grabbed a narrow win at port Macquarie last start and stays over a similar trip today where he has a good record. Goes right up in the weights however and without a claim will need to be at his best.

Expecting him to get a good run from barrier 4 and could be worth an each way ticket.

The resuming Alma Girl also rates a mention with the blinkers going on first time but will need a bit of luck from the wide draw.

Gets in well with a 2kg claim for apprentice jockey and would not be surprised to see her thereabouts.
