Comic Ruler will look to build on his recent good form when lining up in the Hygain Feed To Go Open Handicap (1400m) at Townsville today.

The five-year-old gelding has won two of his last three and finished in the placings his last four outings and is likely to prove hard to beat again.

Comic Ruler comes into this off a dominant 3L win at this course and stays over the same trip today.

With only 54kgs to carry, Comic Ruler rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings and on what he has produced of late should prove hard to hold out.

Same jockey stays on board for this and from barrier 6 expecting him to not be far away in the run.

The son of Commands has missed the placings just once from six attempts at the trip and has finished in the money both outings at this course.

Holdontoyahorses resumed in pretty good order last start when runner up at Mackay. Has a handy record when second up and looms as a big danger.

The five-year-old mare should get a good run from barrier 1 but does go up 350m in trip on last starts effort.

Rattus Conatus has placed in two of his last three outings and has a solid career record. Likely to be thereabouts again and is worth keeping safe.

The well tried six-year-old gelding has shown solid form in tougher than this of late and would not be surprised to see him fighting out the finish.

Morossa has failed to win a race in a while now but has been racing consistently well of late.

Tends to race well at this course and despite running fourth behind Comic Ruler last start, beaten 4.6L meets him considerably better at the weights.

Cannot be dismissed here and is worth including among the main chances.

Outside of these General Rippa also rates a mention as an each way chance but backs up quickly into this. On best form rates well and if he can run up to that should feature prominently here.
