Brown To Continue Winning Way

3 minute read

In-form hoop Corey Brown appears well placed to continue his winning form when linking aboard the Bruce Marsh trained Stiletto in tonight's sixth event at Singapore.

Currently sitting third in the Jockeys' Premiership, Brown has proven the real punter's pal, having saluted aboard 12 of his last 26 rides when aboard the favourite.

Placing on a further six occasions, Brown comes into tonight's meeting off the back of a winning double last Sunday when delivering a textbook ride aboard Goodman in the Group 2 Chairman's Trophy.

Pressing forward to lead aboard the promising three-year-old, Brown timed his run to perfection after he pinched a few cheap sectionals and proved too slick over the concluding stages.

Riding in fine touch at present, Brown is one of the in-form hoops in Singapore and looks to continue his handy association with Stiletto this evening.

In four attempts aboard the daughter of Strategic Image, Brown has placed in three and while missing the money last start her effort did have plenty of merit.

The drop back to six furlongs should suit as she did appear tested over the 1400m last start behind the Michael Freedman trained Bogart.

Stiletto has placed in five of six attempts over this distance range and does appear well placed down in the weights.

Stepping out for just her ninth career start, Stiletto has displayed good ability and does rate well on Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

The Laurie Laxon trained Double Star has to be respected dropping back noticeably in grade, however Stiletto still rates clear on best form.

The return to the polytrack should also boast her chances as she is yet to miss the money from three attempts on the synthetic surface.

Drawn ideally on the inside, Brown is expected to roll forward on Stiletto as her best form has been seen when ridden aggressively.

Her average lead speed suggests she should find the front easily enough tonight and if able to dictate freely in front, she should prove hard to run down.

In her sole attempt racing fourth up previously, she did prove successful and if able to run up to that level of performance here, she does appear hard to beat.

As mentioned previously, Double Star has to be respected dropping back in grade for this affair as his form in tougher company does measure up well here.

In 15 attempts on the polytrack the son of Ishiguru has placed in 11 and has placed in six of nine attempts over this distance range.

With the aid of the claim he does appear well placed, and should be able to find a nice spot just off the speed from the gun draw.

Although generally not the most consistent, if able to return a career peak performance tonight, he is expected to be right in the finish.

The Shane Baertschiger trained Solitaire was a shade disappointing behind Twickenham last start, however if up to his best he looks to hold solid claims in this event.

In 16 attempts on the polytrack he has placed in 11 and if able to run up to his performance behind Accomplished three back he does rate well on Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

The main concern, however is the fact he has only won one of his last 10 and has drawn a touch awkwardly.

Nonetheless, if the speed is on up front he is expected to be charging home right into the finish with the aid of the claim.

Of the rest the Mark Walker trained Riedel does appear the next in line when he makes his return from a short 70-day break.

He has placed in two of four attempts fresh and while he is best form is seen over further he cannot be taken lightly.

From the rails draw he is expected to drop out, settle back off the speed and be saved up for his run in the straight.

On Timeform weight adjusted ratings he isn't far off the top three contenders and with even luck in running, he is expected to be right around the mark.

Good luck and happy punting.
