Rinn Pierre will appreciate the drop back in grade when stepping out in the Taree Cup Prelude (Bechmark 70 Handicap today.
The now four-year-old mare has been good in all three runs this campaign, only 0.6L away when fifth at Warwick Farm last start.
Rinn Pierre Produced a good run for second at Newcastle prior to that and despite not having run over the mile previously, did finish a narrow second over 1500m last preparation and the step up to the mile should be of little concern.
Trainer Wayne Wilkes has elected to take the blinkers off and Rinn Pierre comes into the race with a very handy career record.
Allan Chau who rode the mare at Newcastle two back goes on board again and she rates well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings.
Likely to settle around midfield and expect her to be very hard to hold out in this company.
Caffeina was good when fourth at Wyong over this trip last start and stays under strong notice here after that effort. Down in the weights for this and rates a big danger here.
Not the strongest record over the mile placing in three of seven but has shown enough to suggest she is right up to winning this.
Lucky Ima Cugat also rates a mention, having placed in his last two outings at Warwick Farm but drops back 600m in trip for this off a freshen up.
Giving weight to a few of these but has drawn well enough and won over this trip at Newcastle earlier in the preparation.
Consistent type who will certainly be somewhere in the mix over the final stages.
Outside of these there looks to be a couple of each way chances in the mix.
Onemore Eightmore gets a much needed 3kg claim and did win in pen company at this course back in June.
Has not drawn the best but worth some thought along with Eight Skirts who has been ticking along well enough of late and she rates a chance in this.
