Steakandbernaise Well Placed At Albury

3 minute read

Steakandbernasie has returned in good order and should be hard to hold out when lining up in the Carlton Draught C3 (1600m) at Albury today.

The lightly raced five-year-old gelding was very good in his debut campaign and has not been far away in both runs this time in, beaten only 0.2L when runner up at Wangaratta last start.

Looks well suited over the mile and from five starts, the Brett Cavanough-trained runner has won two and placed on a further two occasions.

From barrier 4 expecting Steakandbernaise to settle around midfield and his last start effort rates very well on weight adjusted Timeform ratings.

Nick Souquet goes on board for the first time and third up now, Steakandbernaise looks very hard to beat in this company.

Nriangi Has been a model of consistency this time in including a 3.8L second at Wellington in a Class 3 last time out.

Drops in trip for this and despite not having won in a long time will be right in the mix here backing up after only seven days.

Rates pretty well on best form and looms as a big danger to Steakandbernaise.

My Sister Ruby Has not been far away in recent times and was a last start winner at Gundagai.

Capable of going on with it here and from barrier two expecting the Jodie Bohr-trained runner to not be far away throughout.

Down in the weights for this and certainly looks right up to these on what she has produced of late.

Astra Delight also has claims here off a solid showing at Echuca last start. Raced in much tougher company prior to that and despite not having won in over a year looks to have each way claims in this.

These look the main chances with Aribba the best of rest. Won two starts back but was unable to go on with it last start.

Back to the mile today and place claims look best here.
