Run Cannon Run will prove very hard to hold out at Queanbeyan today after his main rival Rose Of Falvelon was scratched.
The Mark Schmetzer-trained runner resumed in good order with a win at Narromine last start and is shooting for three wins in a row today having won at Cowra prior to a spell.
Run Cannon Run (Race 3 #3) has an outstanding career record, winning six of his 14 outings, placing on a further four occasions and has won on a wet track previously as well.
Apprentice jockey James Innes goes back on board and with the 1.5kg claim is right down in the weights today and would expect him to go forward from barrier six and prove very hard to run down.
The four-year-old gelding has been given a freshen up since his last start win and should sprint well fresh over the 875m trip.
Steel Trigger looks the main danger, coming into this on the back of a last start second placing at this C/D last start.
Form prior to that was good and from the inside draw he won’t be far away in this and should be somewhere in the finish.
Andrew Bloomfield goes on board for the first time and his last start effort rates well in this company and must be respected.
Zero De Brave continued her consistent form when resuming with a third at this C/D last start.
The Neil Osbourne-trained runner has finished in the money his last seven starts and in this small field there is no reason she can’t follow that trend here.
Has won on a wet track previously and with the 2kg claim will not have much weight will be somewhere in the mix.
These look the main chances and expecting the winner to come from one of these although Another Grand from the Neville Layt stable has been far from disgraced in recent times and the stable has a good record at the course.
