Wigginout Well Placed At Taree

3 minute read

Wigginout has been racing in good form of late and will be hard to hold out when stepping out at Taree today.

The Allan Kehoe-trained runner will line up in the McGrath’s Meats Class 3 Handicap over 1000m (Race 2 #5) having won a narrow second at this C/D two starts back.

Wigginout has followed up a good win at Fernhill with two narrow placings and on best form rates well in this company.

Pricilla Schmidt will take the ride for the first time and from barrier 3 expect her to go forward and take plenty of running down in this.

The daughter of Haradasun has a good record over the trip and has finished runner up her only time at the course.

If the three-year-old filly can hold her recent form in this she will be very hard to beat.

Hammoon Boy looks the big danger shooting for three wins in a row today.

The Jeff Englebrecht-trained runner resumed well when runner up at Cessnock before going on to win his last two at Muswellbrook.

Stays over the 1000m journey where he has a good record and his last start win rates pretty well against these.

From barrier six, the five-year-old gelding is likely to settle off the pace but will be running on strongly once again and should be in the finish.

Myseventeenseventy also rates a mention having finished third behind Hammoon Boy at Muswellbrook last start.

Meets Hammoon boy better at the weights and was only 1.6L away last start.

The six-year-old mare is only lightly raced and produced good form in tougher company earlier this preparation.

These look to be the main chances although there appears to be a couple of each way hopes in Grey Emperor who has not been far away and I wouldn't dismiss Jade’s Command who was poor when resuming for new yard last but on best career form could measure up.
