Freedman's Circus A Profitable Affair

3 minute read

Promising galloper Brahma Circus appears well placed to notched up his second victory, when set to contest the penultimate event at Singapore this evening.

Having returned with a dominant six length victory, the son of Darci Brahma proceeded to finish second at his next two starts, most recently behind the handy My Lucky Strike.

Dropping back to 1000m on that occasion, Brahma Circus appears set to relish the slight step up in trip, and appears very well placed in this modest Class 4 event.

Stepping out for just his fifth career start, he still possesses plenty of scope for improvement, and will strip fitter racing second up.

At his last start Brahma Circus was six weeks between runs and with natural progression, he should take good improvement with that run under his belt.

In a race with limited chances on paper, a majority of rivals appear to have already reached their respective marks, and on average are seven starts between wins.

In-form jockey Corey Brown sticks aboard and is likely to lead from the inside draw.

Last start Brahma Circus was unable to find the front from the wide draw, however he should have enough speed to hold out his rivals this evening.

Using Timeform weight adjusted ratings, Darci Brahma is extremely well placed and if able to run up to his best form, he should take a power of beating.

The engagement of Manoel Nunes aboard Orchard Road is significant and she remains under strong notice.

While not having ridden the five-year-old previously, Nunes is currently striking at 15% with the Michael Clements stable.

Given three weeks between runs, following her fair performance behind Bazinga last start, the daughter of Danroad is likely to adopt a forward position from the middle draw.

Although below her best at her last few starts, the form through Room For Excuse and Exceed Express from earlier in her preparation, sees her measure right up.

One of few lightly raced gallopers in the field, she remains open to improvement and is expected to be right around the mark.

The Brian Dean trained Danny Ricardo remains the interesting runner in the field, having been simply outclassed at his last three starts.

First up he bumped into the handy Super Winner, before safely held behind Best Tothelign and the very talented Rathausglockel at his last outing.

On all three occasions, his closing sectionals remained quite solid, he simply conceded too big a start to his rivals.

Using Timeform ratings, he isn't rated far off the leading hopes on best form and if the speed is on up-front, he should be charging home late.

Of the rest the Clifford Brown trained Media Captain appears the next in line.

Though unable to break through in recent efforts, he hasn't been far off the mark and rates well using Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

He has placed in 11 of 21 attempts on the polytrack and cannot be taken lightly with Michael Rodd aboard.

Good luck and happy punting.
