No Doubt On Friday Night

3 minute read

Talented sprinter Raise No Doubt appears poised to return to the winner's stall, when set to contest the sixth event at Singapore this evening.

A victor of his first three starts in Singapore, the son of Not A Single Doubt failed to fill the winner's frame at his next four, however his form held plenty of merit.

Raise No Doubt finished second on two occasions, with his effort first up behind Bellwether a real eye catcher.

Unsuited by the slow tempo, Raise No Doubt hit the line strongly over the 1000m scamper, recording slick closing sectionals.

On Timeform ratings, Raise No Doubt returned a figure only four pounds shy of his best — emphasising he has returned in great order.

With only the sole victory on the polytrack, Raise No Doubt should relish the return to the turf track and is expected to appreciate the step up in trip.

In six attempts over 1200m, Raise No Doubt has placed on three occasions, including two victories.

Notably two of his three unplaced runs came in Group company, having finished seventh behind Sidestep in the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes, before finishing fifth behind El Padrino in the Group 3 Woodlands Handicap.

Last preparation Raise No Doubt continued to improve with racing and is expected to strip a lot fitter this evening.

On his return Raise No Doubt weighed 473kg, notably the same weight as when he made his debut for the Leticia Dragon stable.

When returning his peak figure, Raise No Doubt weighed 467kg, which further suggests he went to the races with plenty of improvement in hand.

From the awkward draw, Raise No Doubt is expected to roll forward and settle just off the speed, with the Shane Baertschiger trained Mycaptainoblivious likely to take up the running.

Dragon Dynasty and Peace No War should settle just off the speed, with Raise No Doubt receiving a nice trail in fourth.

Under the handicap conditions of the race, Raise No Doubt appears very well placed using Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

On his performance last start, he already rates clear and given he is likely to improve further, he sets a lofty standard for his rivals.

While letting down his supporters in recent outings, Raise No Doubt can make amends, as he should prove very hard to beat.

The Michael Freedman trained Peace No War finished second in his last three starts prior to a break, having bumped into the likes of Southern Boss, Happy Money and Golden Sand Steed.

On those three occasions, he returned form good enough to make his presence felt in this event.

Peace No War is yet to miss the money fresh and has placed in four of six attempts at this course and distance, two of which were victories.

His latest trial performance was very good behind Huka Falls and if able to put his best foot forward, he is expected to be right around the mark.

The Brian Dean trained Dragon Dynasty returned a new career peak last start and appears the next in line.

Chasing a hat-trick of wins the son of Hold That Tiger does have the weight scale against, however he has a great record on the turf and is open to further improvement, being only lightly raced.

From the rails draw he shouldn't be far away.

Of the rest the Michael Clements trained Darci Charmer cannot be taken lightly returning to the turf track.

While only plain last start, his performance two back behind Bellwether sees him well placed and he has to be respected.

Good luck and happy punting.
