Harmonic To Play Winning Tune At Hawkesbury

3 minute read

Harmonic looks hard to go past at Hawkesbury today when resuming in the Provincial Championships Qualifier (1400m).

The Tony McEvoy-trained runner has not been seen since winning with ease over 1500m at this course last year but comes into this off three solid barrier trial efforts.

The six-year-old gelding won his most recent trial at Hawkesbury by an impressive 6L and has a very good record first up previously, missing the placings just once from five starts.

Harmonic has drawn to get a very good around off the pace from barrier 3 and despite not having been seen in a while now on best form rates as the one to beat.

The barrier trials would have topped him off nicely and McEvoy would have no doubt timed to have him spot on for his return.

The 1400m journey is sure to suit having won 3/6 previously and winning jockey Tim Clark remains on board.

The son of Delago Brom was scratched at the barriers in the qualifier at Kembla Grange on March 13 but certainly gets his chance to qualify today.

Kayjay’s Joy was blocked for a run on straightening when running fifth in the Provincial Championship Qualifier at Kembla Grange last start.

Form prior to that had been good which included a win at Warwick Farm three back and she should be competitive once again today.

Winning jockey Tommy Berry goes back on board and the lightly raced four-year-old mare shapes up as a big danger here.

Only concern appears to be the 1400m where she does not possess the best record but with slight improvement on her first up effort will be right in the finish of this.

Footy Fan is another one resuming off a lengthy spell, having not been seen I well over a year.

The five-year-old possesses a very good career record and produced some solid form at the back end of last preparation.

Won a recent trial at Hawkesbury by 4.5L over 1000m and despite drawing wide in barrier 15 is likely to go forward with Jim Cassidy in the saddle and take running down.

Other chances including Choice Larga who has finished fourth in all three runs this campaign and Loyalist who has been racing pretty well of late, winning two of four this campaign.
