Distraught can go one better than a narrow last start second when returning to the course and distance at Kembla Grange on Tuesday.

The mare returned from a short stint in Victoria at Kembla Grange 17 days ago where she attempted to make all over this trip.

She was only collared in the final stages on that occasion which came seven weeks since her prior start over 1400m at Bendigo on July 8.

Distraught will have taken benefit from her Kembla Grange outing and returns to the course and distance in the Robert Oatley Wines Handicap Class 2 Handicap (1300m).

While eligible for easier, the daughter of Domesday does appear suited in this particular Class 2.

She shapes as the class mare of the race and can showcase that in Race 5 at Kembla Grange on Tuesday.

From an outside barrier, James McDonald will roll forward and be prominent aboard the Godolphin-raced mare.

Rating highest amongst this field on both 12 month and 50 day weight adjusted Timeform ratings, she is expected to take some catching from there.

There are a number of each way hopes who can play a role at the finish, namely the most consistent Layo Layo.

The daughter of Encosta De Lago doesn’t know how to run a bad race and wasn’t far off Distraught last start when a one length third at this course and distance.

Tramontane was disappointing last start at Newcastle however was a maiden winner at this course over 1200m on resuming.

The Northern Meteor mare never looked like running out a mile at Newcastle last start so returning back to a sprint journey should be of benefit.

No Concerns is running solid races against lesser opposition and shapes as the best of the rest.

Overall though, Distraught is seemingly knocking on the door of another win and can grab it in the Robert Oatley Wines Class 2 Handicap (1300m) at Kembla Grange on Tuesday.
