Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for January 14.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Dubbo, Kilmore and Emerald.
DUBBO: RACE 3 @ 2:25 PM
STORM PARK (5) progressed nicely in his second start when lengthening nicely in the lane to score and shed his maiden tag. Sparingly raced gelding that has more to offer and has a hot-hand hoop in Gallagher sticking for a sharp stable. Sure to measure right up again. AMANTAKA (6) doesn't win out of turn but ran a nice race last time out over 1800m at Gilgandra. Drops back to the mile and can give this a shake. TAIPAN LEGEND (10) fought on well for second last start at Tamworth and added another minor finish to the tally. Strips rock-hard fit and has good early toe to give backers another bold sight. Don't dismiss. MISS YOU SO (12) is nearing a peak effort now after a solid closing third at Muswellbrook. Expect him to drift back from the wide alley and be climbing over their backs late.

KILMORE: RACE 3 @ 2:30 PM
BELLARCHI (5) presents fourth up and rates extra well. He had no luck last time and has the first-time blinkers applied. The one to beat with average luck in transit. REAL SHADY (2) jumped $1.85 at Burrumbeet first-up but needed the outing. He'd had a long injury-enforced break and can show a lot more fitter and stepping up to the mile. Currie will be looking to use the inside barrier. BO COUGAR (8) has run some promising races and fitter will enjoy the step up in distance. AMERICAN RUSS (1) will control the race and is going okay. Will be in it for a long way.
SELECTIONS: Bellarchi gets his chance.
EMERALD: RACE 1 @ 1:45 PM
Former Hong Kong galloper LUCKY STRONG (1) has just run into one better in both starts since joining the new stable but strikes a very winnable contest here. Butler sticks in the irons following that last-start runner-up finish and should be going close to shedding the maiden tag against this lot. SMOKIN' DOLLARS (3) is facing the starter for the first time but has shown ability at the trials and any market support must be respected. PLAY IT AS IT LAYS (11) can do better than last start at Mackay and can contest today while OUR BERLINETTA (6) is a hope fresh.
SELECTIONS: Lucky Strong to break through.
