Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 05.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Coffs Harbour, Townsville, Geelong and Albany.
COFFS HARBOUR: RACE 6 @ 4:15 PM
THEIR FINEST HOUR (5) Brave Smash gelding who looks to have strengthened up over the break. Finished runner-up in decent races last time in and since fitted with the two sharp trials. Gets his chance here. PAL'S REIGN (1) showed a ton of grit on debut when spearing across from the wide draw to hold on gamely for a tough fourth over 1030m at Grafton on June 8. Returns with the one trial and looks one of the major players. WESTERLY (3) gave his all with the 59kg on resumption when a fighting fifth over 1006m at Grafton on November 25. Fitter now and can race a little closer from the draw. SWEET MARLENE (10) resumes from a six-and-a-half-month break and now in the Cassandra Schmitd stable. Sat on the good tempo when a plugging second over 1200m at Moe on May 14. Blinkers go on and returns without a trial. Leading player.
SELECTIONS: Their Finest Hour to win.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 3 @ 3:20 PM
GOING NUCLEAR (1) was a big 55 winner over this distance and has been nudged out at his two starts since. He's well-placed in this contest and Wiggins is a key jockey engagement. LADY MASQUERADE (7) mixes the form but her Yeppoon effort two back stacks up and improvement is likely stepping up to the mile. Finally draws an inside barrier and the in-form Morrison replaces the 3kg apprentice. ZOUHOPE (5) deserved the 60 win at Ingham. A 2kg claimer replaces Morrison and he will be in the finish holding the form. BRAVE AGENDA (4) won this grade at Innisfail and then tackled stronger at Cairns and found Lidder Valley much too good. Covered the others and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Going Nuclear.
GEELONG: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
COTTON TREE (1) resumes and looks well placed here. He was last seen running second to the smart Lady In Pink at Flemington over 2000m which reads very well. This is an ideal trip for him to kick off at with Shinn booked from an inside gate. THE WESTERN FRONT (3) is coming off a dominant maiden win at this track over 1535m, scoring by three lengths. This extra trip will suit and he can go on with the job. QUEEN BEIRA (9) can mix her form but has the ability to be in the finish on her day. IT'S LIT (5) has claims on the win two back.
SELECTIONS: Cotton Tree to win.
ALBANY: RACE 7 @ 8:40 PM
FLICK THE SWITCH (4) missed a whisker here off the big CL1 win at Narrogin first-up. Spaced the CL2 graders here following heavily bet again. Peaks on a quick backup and she will take plenty of beating. I'M NOT SLEW (2) is a former NSW galloper resuming for the new barn. She races forward and has pieces of form that stack up. The extra gear comes off and the betting will be key. HOT CHATTER (8) is proven third up and is ready to show more. Maps for a soft run and her best would have her in the finish. DOES HE KNOW (9) is also third up and should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Flick The Switch to win.
