Early Mail for Rosehill on June 15.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 6 (11) AGENT: Comes back to the city after an excellent win at the Scone carnival last month when he overcame a wide draw and big weight of 58.5kg to score against the on pace bias over 1100m at his first start for seven weeks. He’s never missed a place in five starts over 1100m and while this race has plenty of depth he gets a favourable draw, drops 3kg and gets the services of Hugh Bowman.
RACE 2 (4) KNOYDART: Looks a great chance to turn the tables on his stablemate Emblems after he finished hard for a half length second over this course and distance on June 1 to add another placing to his consistent record, noting that his rider came under scrutiny from stewards about his tactics. Gets a 1.5kg weight shift in his favour and he should have the last look at them as the field is packed with pace runners who will set the race up nicely for him.
RACE 8: (8) DON CARLOS: Lightly raced import in the Mike Moroney stable has raced only twice in 20 months but his two starts in shorter races have him building up nicely towards a middle distance win. Caught the eye at his first Sydney start when finishing on nicely for sixth, just two lengths away, in a similar field over 1800m at this course on June 1 after he lost his running early and had to make up a lot of ground. He’s nicely weighted with 1.5kg under the limit in this even field, making him an attractive gamble at double figure odds.
